The last flight of Heavy Heron, the last flight of ACC09. Perfect flight, only the first touchdown occured 5m before the 120m zone. But actually we have flown the airplane to its limit! 9kg Payload, total mass abaout 11,2kg! Das Team der AkaModell konnte sich gegen 22 andere Teams aus ganz Europa durchsetzen. Bereits mit dem Design-Report und der Präsentation vor Ort konnten wirordentlich Punkte sammeln. Bei den zwei Flugtagen des insgesamt dreitägigen Wettbewerbes gelang es uns dann, wesentlich mehr Blei in die Luft zu befördern sowie wieder sicher zu landen als andere Teams. Geflogen wurde mit dem eigens konstruierten Flugmodell „Heavy Heron“ mit ca 2.5m Spannweite, 2.2Kg Eigengewicht und speziell entworfenem Tragflächenprofil mit Fowler Klappensystem. Bereits mit dem ersten Wertungsflug mit 8Kg Nutzlast gelang es uns in Führung zu gehen, danach folgte ein weiterer Flug mit 8.2Kg. Auch der letzte Wertungsflug mit 9Kg Nutzlast gelang, wurde aufgrund eines verfrühten Aufsetzens aber leider ungültig. Unsere Führungsposition haben wir dennoch deutlich beibehalten. Der Wettbewerb ist damit für uns ein voller Erfolg geworden, die unzähligen Arbeitsstunden haben sich damit mehr als ausgezahlt. Wir danken unseren Unterstützern und Sponsoren. hi all Today was the first flight competition run. In the test run we lifted 6kg easyly, but had some problems with the start. The maximum lifted by other teams was 3,8kg. Hi all, at the moment we are at the auditorium. Team No 10 is speaking. We are team No 21. so expected time for our presentation is 18:00. Other teams seem quite well prepared. Many use s1223 and wingspans between 1,8m and 3,2m. But there are also some more experimental planes here. Hello AKAModell, Yesterday at 22:00 we arrived in Covilha, it was a hard and long trip. The trip to Frankfurt and The Serbian team „Chicken Wings“ is also nice. They drink a lot of „strong water“ and they share it with us. This noon, we left St. Eufemia Hotel and moved to the our youth hostel in Covihlia. Greetings,

We fixed the problem and orderd 8kg for the first attempt.
After a restart(we needed 10 cm more then the 60m for the start) we were able to lift the 8 kg.

the flight were very nice and everything worked fine. In Lisbon there was a problem with the trian
station: We were forced to put our transportation box out of the trian again. The serbian team we
met at the airport had the same problem. Fortunately the organisation commitee helped us: one of
their fathers came to collect our boxes. So we were able to travel without them. After waiting another 2,5h
at the trian station and 6h in the train we arrived at covihlia.
At the moment we are planning the presentation for tomorrow.
The weather is really hot and we enjoy our time here in Portugal.
